As you might already have guessed im somewhat of a Claymore fan but it didn't start like that. I think it was around late September. I had just just finished watching Scrapped Princess (excellent anime btw) and was on the look out for more medieval fantasy type Animes. It was the name 'Claymore' that got my attention, i thought i might have something to do with swords and stuff, as you would ^.^. It was very new which i liked and the description seemed okay i guess so i watched it along with a couple of other pilot eps from different anime

It didn't really grab me at first, not really sure why. I think maybe i wasn't really in the mood for a tragic storyline that day and also the animation style looked kinda weird to me, in addition i didn't really like Claire alot as the female protagonist. So it lay dormant for a couple of weeks until i passed it along with some others to my Otaku friend. I think he said he had heard it was pretty popular or something. Anyway he said it was pretty good i think and asked if i could get the rest of the season. So that day i went back home and re watched the first Ep and well it seemed alot better now for some reason. After the second ep i was hooked for the most part and beginning to like Claire alot more. About half way through the season i knew Claymore was my most favorite anime ever. When i finished i NEEDED more so i started reading the Manga, first online then i went out and brought all of the Claymore manga i could find in the capital.

The reason i like Claymore is the way it shows Claymores. The artist captures the true beauty of the female form without making it perverted and sexual as many other Anime/Manga that try to accomplish this do. Claymores are also very strong but also very elegant and graceful at the same time, they aren't just men with tits, something that ive seen happen with very strong females in some other anime. Those might seem like odd reasons to some people but being an artist who happens to be obsessed with drawing females its very important to me. I also like the anime because of the soundtrack . Its rather a weird mix when you listen to it on its own but it suits the anime very well and has some of the most epic pieces ive ever heard. Like when the dieing Claymore clutches Claire and begs her to save her comrades or the scene just before they fight the second wave of awakened beings in the north. I just live for epic music like that. ^.^
